Our Summer Associate Program is designed to give you the opportunity to experience life as a practicing attorney.  Our self-directed program gives summer associates exposure to as many practice areas as possible to enable you to choose, on an informed basis, a practice interest and to provide frequent opportunities to get to know our firm on a personal level.  We strive to accommodate individual requests for work within this broad diversity of work experience whenever possible.

Team Approach

Each summer associate is assigned two mentors – a member and an associate – who guide you through the program. Our team approach offers attorneys a broad array of client contact and professional experience.  Our quality and level of sophistication and informal work style make Moore & Van Allen a wonderful place to begin your legal career.

Work Experience

We strive to make the summer associate experience as close to the real thing as possible by challenging our summers in substantive ways.  We include summer clerks on deal teams, in mediations, on conference calls, at hearings.  We want our summer associates to have the opportunity to work on matters that give a sense of what it’s actually like to work at Moore & Van Allen. 

Outings and Events

It’s also important for us to know you personally, and for you to get to know us and Charlotte, Research Triangle Park or Charleston.  We strive to make that happen through outings and events throughout the summer.  We want you to feel as good about accepting a full-time work offer from us as we feel about making you that offer.
