Moore & Van Allen Welcomes Towers Mingledorff
Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that Towers Mingledorff has joined the MVA Public Affairs Team as Director of Public Affairs. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of CLT Host 2020, Inc. (Charlotte Host Committee), and as staff to U.S. Senator Thom Tillis, U.S. Congressman David Rouzer and in the North Carolina State Senate.
“We are very pleased to welcome Towers to our Public Affairs Team,” said Walter S. Price, head of MVA’s Public Affairs Practice Group. “I had the pleasure of working with him during the planning of the 2020 Republican Convention, and was impressed by his work ethic, knowledge, and experience. We are confident that our firm and clients will be well served by Towers’ abilities, as well as his relationships in both Raleigh and Washington.”
Mingledorff has legislative experience at the state and federal levels on a wide array of issues, including agriculture, natural resources, financial services and economic development. As staff with the North Carolina General Assembly, he worked with the chairs of the Senate Appropriations on Agriculture, Natural, and Economic Resources Committee, Agriculture/Environment/Natural Resources Committee, Environmental Review Commission, and the Agriculture and Forestry Awareness Study Commission. At the federal level in Washington, D.C., he was lead staffer for Congressman David Rouzer on the U.S. House of Representatives Agriculture Committee, and served as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Thom Tillis.
In his role for the Charlotte Host Committee, Mingledorff was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the §501(c)(3) not for profit economic development organization charged with hosting and funding what was to be the Republican National Convention to be held in Charlotte in August 2020. While COVID-19 reduced the benefits to hosting a national convention, the Host Committee has donated over $3 million to promoting economic development in Charlotte and throughout the states of North Carolina and South Carolina.
Mingledorff earned his B.A. from The George Washington University.
