McDowell Will Serve on Mecklenburg County Bar Panel

March 4, 2010

To honor and celebrate Women’s History Month, Levine Museum of the New South and the Mecklenburg County Bar, 26th Judicial District, are presenting a thought-provoking CLE program and reception on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6-8pm at the Museum. The evening will include a book signing with Katie McCabe, author of Justice Older than the Law, which celebrates the life and legacy of Charlotte native Dovey Johnson Roundtree.

Following a book reading and video clip of Mrs. Roundtree’s accomplishments, a panel of distinguished female, legal professionals from the region will share their perspective on what it means to be a woman attorney in today’s legal market and what lessons they have learned from the professional conduct of Dovey Johnson Roundtree’s legacy.   Moderated by former NBC6 news anchor, Sterlin Benson Webber, program panelists include:

  • Valecia McDowell- attorney at Moore & Van Allen,
  • Nancy Norelli-former NC District Judge and attorney at Norelli Law,
  • Corie Pauling-senior counsel for TIAA-CREF,
  • Geraldine Sumter – attorney at Ferguson, Stein, Chamber, Gresham and Sumter.
