Antarctica documentary, Climate Change: Global Problems, Global Solutions, premieres on New Hampshire Public Television
Print PDFAmerica's heightened awareness of the phenomenon of global climate change has led to increasing pressure on the institutions of our society to react. Politicians are rushing to adopt any plan that demonstrates to voters that they care about greenhouse gases, without giving any serious consideration to the effect of local policies on total global greenhouse gas emissions.
Tom Mullikin led a team of researchers, environmental experts, and policymakers on an expedition to Antarctica to study the effects of climate change on the polar region. Accompanying him on the trip was Dr. Robert Thomas, Chair of the Department of Environmental Communications at Loyola University in New Orleans, and renowned environmental expert. What they saw in this region was truly remarkable -- and disturbing.
He produced a subsequent video documentary, Climate Change: Global Problems, Global Solutions, examining the problems surrounding the implementation of sound social policy to address global climate change.
The documentary received widespread acclaim in both business and environmental circles, and was broadcast in August 2007 on New Hampshire Public Television, with a viewership of over 2.4 million households in the Boston market.
