Wheeler to Advise Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11

Moore & Van Allen is pleased to announce that David Wheeler, a member in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring practice, has been appointed to serve as an advisory board member to the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Commission to Study the Reform of Chapter 11. The purpose of the Commission is to study and make recommendations for Chapter 11 that will eventually be presented to Congress.

The Commission is comprised of practicing attorneys, former judges, academics and bankers, including Jan Baker (President, American College of Bankruptcy), Former Chief Judge (SDNY) Arthur Gonzalez and Cliff White (Director of U.S. Trustee Program). Michelle M. Harner, a professor at the University of Maryland School of Law, will serve as the primary investigator. The Commission will issue a final report in 2014.
