Taylor Addresses Ownership of Third-Party Works in Final Column

Commercial and Technology Transactions Senior Counsel Todd Taylor’s final InsideCounsel.com Technology column published on February 8.  In the piece, “Ensuring ownership of contractor-created technology and other works,” Taylor offers tips for conveying ownership of copyrights, patents and trade secrets created by third parties.

“Generally speaking, copyrights, patents and trade secrets are the three principle types of intellectual property rights that companies are most often concerned about when engaging third-party contractors for technology and process developments. There are differences in each of these rights, and companies may need to take different steps to convey ownership in such rights,” he states.
