Pro Bono Project headed by Clay Honored

February 2018

A Pro Bono project led by Charlotte Litigation Member Cabell Clay has been selected to receive the Mecklenburg County Bar’s outstanding collaborative project award. The Hurricane Matthew Disaster Legal Services Project, sponsored by the American Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division and the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division, provided free legal assistance to victims immediately after Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on Eastern North Carolina.  Clay, along with Brooks Jaffa and Rachel Blunk, coordinated the provision of pro bono legal assistance to nearly 300 Hurricane Matthew victims by 200 attorneys statewide. This award will be presented at the Bar Leadership Dinner on February 22.
