Charlotte Litigation Member and co-head of Moore & Van Allen’s White Collar, Regulatory Defense and Investigations practice John Fagg attended the 5th Annual Cambridge Forum on Financial Institutions Enforcement on May 17 and 18. The Forum is a by-invitation only meeting of a small group of white collar criminal defense and regulatory defense lawyers who advise financial institutions on enforcement matters.


McGinnis to Present at Globalaw’s 2018 European Regional Meeting

Charlotte Privacy and Data Security Member Karin McGinnis will be speaking at Globalaw’s 2018 European Regional Meeting on April 19 in Rome, Italy. Her presentation will cover the challenges, opportunities and pitfalls of the General Data Protection Regulation, changing the legal framework of data privacy in the European Union and the data transfer to Non-EU Countries.

The Charlotte Business Journal awarded  Employment & Labor/ Litigation/ Privacy and Data Security Member Karin McGinnis with a 2018 Women in Business Achievement Award at the Women in Business Awards event on February 12.  McGinnis was also profiled in the CBJ’s Women in Business Special Report on February 16.

Charlotte Litigation Member Larry Gwaltney was quoted in an U.S. News & World Report article on October 11. The article, titled, “ERISA: Why the Fiduciary Rule Is Not a New Idea,” discusses the ins and outs of the DOL’s fiduciary rule, which requires financial advisors to act in the best interests of clients when providing advice about retirement accounts.
