Climate Change
Print PDFClimate Change is a significant and emerging issue which has generated a multitude of market and regulatory responses that present companies with myriad challenges and opportunities. Moore and Van Allen has the capability and knowledge to provide clients with a multi-faceted approach to successfully navigate the issues related to climate change. For example, some clients may require representation in the litigation of governmental actions related to climate change regulations. Other clients may need support in the development of climate change policies or strategies (i.e. global emissions trading policies, carbon reduction strategies, etc.) Still others may need advice on which climate related risks must be disclosed as part of the federal and state driven disclosure regulations for incorporated entities (i.e. under the Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act of 2002 (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)). Moore and Van Allen has the capability to provide value-added assistance in all of these areas.
Finally, Moore and Van Allen has the capability to monitor international, national, state, and local climate change policy developments and can advocate beneficial policies on behalf of clients. The firm has a particular focus on U.S. national and state-level climate policy, the policies of the member states of the European Union, and the policies of China.
