Moore & Van Allen’s multidisciplinary Economic Development team works on behalf of domestic and international companies that are locating, expanding or restructuring their businesses and operations in communities nationwide. Over the past two decades, Moore & Van Allen has provided economic development counsel and representation to companies of all sizes that have in total invested in excess of $14 billion and provided thousands of job opportunities across the United States.

Our firm has successfully collaborated with Departments of Commerce and Revenue, local municipalities, industrial development boards, port authorities, utility companies, and regional partnerships to achieve competitive incentive packages for our clients. We have drafted proposed economic development legislation, provided testimony in support of such legislation, and worked with legislative committees to encourage its passage – creating new incentive opportunities or expanding eligibility for current incentives to our clients.

As part of the Economic Development team, MVA Public Affairs uses a strategic approach to help build support among state and local officials and other key stakeholders for our clients’ expansion or relocation plans. We have engaged executive and legislative branch officials, advocated before county and city officials and staff, managed high-profile communications and media efforts, facilitated multi-city public announcements and advised on community engagement and integration strategies. We similarly serve our real estate development clients, particularly on highly-visible projects.

Our government affairs and communications professionals work with our clients to understand their needs, goals and sensitivities in pursuing new business endeavors, and then develop corresponding government relations, local connectivity and communications strategies.

Relevant capabilities include:

  • Direct advocacy
  • Legislative monitoring
  • Local connectivity
  • Message development
  • Public relations
  • Media monitoring
  • Issues management and tracking
  • Event management
