Melinda Vervais' practice focuses on energy regulation and general commercial litigation. A significant portion of Ms. Vervais' practice involves providing regulatory, business and litigation services to regulated public utilities in matters involving the natural gas and energy. She has represented clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the North Carolina Utilities Commission, and the Public Service Commission of South Carolina.  Recently, Ms. Vervais has assisted clients in obtaining a Natural Gas Act Section 7(f) Service Area Determination, has successfully coordinated client participation through the FERC's NEPA prefiling process, and has prepared and obtained a certificate for an NGA Section 7 salt dome storage facility, and associated market based rate authorization.

In addition, Ms. Vervais has experience handling complex commercial litigation matters. She has represented clients in mediation and state and federal court in matters involving a wide variety of topics, including contract and employment disputes, trade secrets, commercial real estate, and equipment leasing.
