Jennifer (Jenna) Learoyd King
Jenna King’s primary areas of practice include business torts, general commercial litigation, and government investigations and defense. Her experience includes a wide variety of complex litigation matters, including commercial disputes, federal and state investigations and defense, counseling and litigation experience with environmental issues, and intellectual property disputes.
Ms. King has defended clients in parallel litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
- Sitting second chair, she defended a government contractor in a white collar criminal jury trial, in connection with several multi-million dollar private security contracts. (D.D.C. 2010).
- She assisted with a multi-media environmental compliance audit for a national energy company with an emphasis on requirements under the Clean Air Act and state law counterparts.
- She successfully argued a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction on behalf of an international manufacturing client in connection with a trademark dispute. (C.D. Cal. 2008).
- She has worked on several trial teams pursing and defending claims for injunctive relief in both state and federal courts on behalf of many clients, including employers, a prepaid legal services company, and a hazardous waste management facility.
- She has represented clients in matters involving state and federal governmental agencies such as the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office and the United States Department of Justice.
- She has identified, prepared and cross-examined expert witnesses in a wide variety of disciplines, including fingerprint examination, computer forensic examination, and property valuation.
- She has prepared and presented jury research projects and focus groups to help craft litigation strategy on behalf of the Firm’s clients.
Before joining Moore & Van Allen, Ms. King practiced with a large law firm in its Raleigh, North Carolina office.
