Dominic (Dom) J. Chiantera
A registered patent attorney and co-leader of the MVA Intellectual Property Group, Dom Chiantera brings decades of high-level MVA and in-house intellectual property (IP) experience to his patent prosecution, patent litigation, and IP licensing practice. He focuses on electronics, telecommunications and the computer arts, including circuit and system level hardware as well as software.
Prior to joining Moore & Van Allen, Mr. Chiantera worked for United Technologies Corporation in Hartford, Connecticut, first as an electronics design engineer in its Hamilton Standard Division, then as an intellectual property attorney with its Corporate Legal Department, where he held the position of Deputy Patent Counsel.
In that position, he was responsible for the acquisition, divestiture, licensing, and enforcement of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets for the corporation, as well as its divisions and subsidiaries, including Pratt & Whitney, Otis Elevator Company, Carrier Corporation, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Hamilton Standard and UT Automotive Inc.
