As an estate planning attorney with significant experience in taxation matters, as well as a masters of law in taxation and prior work experience at a major public accounting firm, Andrea Chomakos is able to assist her clients with income, business and estate tax planning -- which is particularly beneficial for clients with closely owned businesses.  In addition to working with her clients to develop comprehensive, sophisticated estate plans, she often works with clients on business transactions including:

  • Buying and selling businesses
  • Structuring buy-sell agreements
  • Forming joint ventures and other similar transactional projects

Ms. Chomakos works hard to maximize her clients' benefits.  For example, she recently assisted a client in selling her business to key employees and structured the sale in order to minimize the income tax consequences and to maximize the net cash received from the sale of the business.

Ms. Chomakos has also worked extensively in the charitable area – forming public charities and private foundations, as well as providing guidance to charitable organizations on Internal Revenue Code compliance.
