Richard I. Simons advises financial institutions as to the treatment of derivatives in connection with single-lender and syndicated loan transactions.  Simons also advises developers and investors in commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Moore & Van Allen, Simons practiced with a firm in Columbia, South Carolina, where he primarily represented Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees in complex bankruptcy matters before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
