Charleston Member Elected to Local Non-Profit Board

Charleston Bankruptcy Member Robert A. Kerr, Jr. was elected to serve as secretary/treasurer of the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association’s (SCBLA) 2013-2014 Executive Board.

The SCBLA is a not-for-profit organization formed to further bankruptcy legal education among attorneys practicing before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina.  It serves as a liaison between the bankruptcy bar and the Bankruptcy Court and the Office of the United States Trustee.  The group sponsors monthly continuing legal education seminars and social gatherings that are free to all members.

Kerr’s SCBLA involvement began in 1991.  His practice at Moore & Van Allen includes all facets of debtor-creditor law, including representation of creditors, trustees and parties in interest in bankruptcy cases, representation of lenders in foreclosure and lender liability cases, and representation of clients in a broad array of business disputes.  Kerr has been a Certified Specialist in Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor law by the South Carolina Supreme Court since 1995.
