Heslin Addresses Keystone XL Pipeline Decision
Charlotte Energy and Litigation Member Brian Heslin was quoted in Law360 on February 20, and in The Washington Times on February 23. Heslin provided both outlets with insight on the impact of a Nebraska state judge’s decision to reject approval of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline route through the state, and to instead put it in the hands of state utility regulators.
"’If the pipeline can't go through Nebraska, it's probably not going to get built,’” Heslin told Law360. “‘It'd be hard to circumvent Nebraska on the way to the Gulf.’"
"'Regardless of whether or not the Nebraska PSC approves a route for that state, we know it's going to take around seven months at the very least, which would presumably provide opponents of the pipeline the opportunity to coalesce in that state and on a national level as well,’” he told The Washington Times.
