MVA Welcomes Chaz Beasley as Counsel
“We are incredibly pleased to have Chaz join our Financial Services team. He is a go-getter in every sense of the word – his proven track record, keen legal mind, and community commitment make him a great asset and will serve our clients well,” said Wayne McKinzie, co-head of the Financial Services Group.
In his finance practice to date, Beasley has focused on representing financial institutions in the issuance and management of corporate and structured debt transactions where he has closed hundreds of secured and unsecured debt issuances, involving borrowers, institutional trustees, and collateral agents in domestic and foreign jurisdictions. At Moore & Van Allen, Beasley will continue to represent financial institutions in corporate loan financings, including loan syndications and structured debt transactions.
Prior to joining Moore & Van Allen, Beasley served for two terms as a state representative for the North Carolina General Assembly, representing District 92, which includes Charlotte, Pineville, Steele Creek, Berryhill, Mountain Island, and Huntersville. In this role he worked to guide the state’s economic policy as a member of several standing committees, including Finance, Commerce & Job Development, Banking, Transportation, and Judiciary IV.
An active member of the community, Beasley has served on several boards and committees, including the Steele Creek Residents Association and Student Hunger Drive of the Carolinas.
Beasley earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
