Jordan Organizes SC Bar Health Care CLE

May 3, 2013

Charleston Corporate and Health Care Member Charles Jordan, who serves as Chair of the South Carolina Bar’s Health Care Law Section Council, has played an instrumental role in planning and organizing that Section’s upcoming day-long CLE “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act:  It’s Constitutional and It’s Being Implemented… Are You Ready?”  The CLE will take place on May 3rd at the South Carolina Bar Conference Center in Columbia from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Jordan will commence the event with an attendee welcome and announcements, and will then moderate a morning ACA-focused Panel Discussion from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.  MVA Public Affairs Counsel Rob Smith will also moderate a session called the “South Carolina ACA-Related Legislative Update” from 1:00 to 1:50 p.m.  Smith has secured commitments from several South Carolina legislators who will provide a South Carolina legislative update on all current or pending ACA-related statutes and regulations, followed by a panel discussion and analysis of their current or anticipated impact on South Carolina’s citizens, providers and the state budget.

Jordan and certain other Health Care Law Section Council members have garnered participation from a number of high profile, widely-respected speakers, including:  Tony Keck, Director of the SC Department of Health and Human Services, certain key leaders from South Carolina Blue Cross Blue Shield, the South Carolina Medical Association and the South Carolina Hospital Association, and several other highly regarded attorneys with expertise in certain areas of health law that will be impacted by the ACA.

The CLE will be worth five CLE MCLE credit hours, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Please contact Charles Jordan with questions, or if you are interested in registering for this CLE.
