US Residency from a Tax and Immigration Standpoint: Identifying and complying with income tax and immigration regulations for your foreign national employees.
Overview of Program: One of the most complicated and confusing aspects surrounding the employment of foreign nationals in the US is ensuring the tax and immigration compliance is done right. You as the employer are responsible for addressing all immigration and tax/payroll issues effectively. Therefore, knowing the basic rules surrounding US residency can be essential in determining what steps must be taken. When is a temporary visa appropriate versus a permanent residency visa (Greencard)? How will the employee be taxed in either situation and what you must report?
