Managing IP Ranks Moore & Van Allen IP Practice Tier 1

Moore & Van Allen was named one of North Carolina’s leading intellectual property firms in Managing Intellectual Property’s inaugural edition of IP Stars, a legal directory that provides state-by-state analysis of the nation’s IP market. 

The Firm’s Intellectual Property practice received a Tier 1 “Highly Recommended” ranking.  Additionally, Member and IP Team Leader Dickson M. Lupo, Member and Trademark Team Leader Arlene D. Hanks, Member Charles (Chuck) L. Moore and Member Henry B. Ward were recognized as “IP Stars.”

The directory states that MVA attorneys are “particularly strong on the transactional side of IP law, combining expertise in technical matters with an ingrained focus on the business needs of clients.”  “IP Stars” Lupo, Hanks, Moore and Ward were “singled out for praise” during the research process. 

The distinction was a new addition to the Managing Intellectual Property Handbook, now in its 20th edition and covering more than 80 jurisdictions.  To compile the rankings information, Managing IP researchers conducted more than 1,000 interviews and surveys with law firm partners in the United States.  Researchers also identified top practitioners and practices by speaking to clients, leading in-house counsel, and reviewing public information and media coverage.
