Clay and Cochran Participate in Panel at Charlotte School of Law

Charlotte Litigation Member Cabell Clay and Litigation Associate Kim Cochran participated in a joint event between the ABA Young Lawyers Division and the ABA Law Student Division on April 18 at the Charlotte Schools of Law. Cabell is currently North Carolina’s representative to the ABA Young Lawyers Division, and was asked by the ABA YLD to coordinate the event. Kim sat on the panel moderated by Cabell which discussed practical tips to ensure law students have a successful summer clerkship or internship.

Panelists also included Brooks Jaffa (Cranford, Buckley, Schultze, Tomchin, Allen & Buie, P.A.), Deyaska Spencer (The Deyaska Spencer Law Firm), Harrison Lord (Bernhardt & Strawser & [Asklegal]]), Jessica Battle (Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office), and Mitchell Feld (Council for Children’s Rights).

Topics covered included advice on making the most of a summer clerkship or internship, practical tips for producing quality work, keys to networking, and common mistakes that law students make, and how to avoid those pitfalls.
