Moore & Van Allen opened our new office space in Atlanta, establishing the firm’s first dedicated physical office outside the Carolinas. The new office underscores our commitment to serving existing and new clients and supporting our lawyers.
“Opening a dedicated office in Atlanta reflects an important step in Moore & Van Allen’s continued expansion into key markets,” said firm Chair and Managing Partner Thomas L. Mitchell. “We have spent 75 years building a strong foundation in the Carolinas and have grown to more than 400 attorneys in the past 10 years. Atlanta’s dynamic business community makes it an ideal location to expand both our client base and lateral talent. This is an exciting time of strategic growth for the firm.”

MVA Belonging & Community Corner
As we wrap up Q1, we’re proud of the meaningful connections and positive impact we’ve achieved together. From friendly competition and cultural engagement to hands-on service and expanding access to crucial community resources, these moments really capture our commitment to belonging, engagement, and making a difference—both inside and outside our organization. Looking forward, we’re excited to keep building on this momentum by deepening partnerships and creating even more opportunities for our colleagues to connect, contribute, and thrive.
A few recent highlights:
- The MVA Inclusion & Belonging Committee launched “Culture Quest,” a cultural and heritage trivia tournament. Now in its fourth game, Culture Quest continues to build momentum, with nine energetic teams strengthening connections and a sense of belonging throughout our community.
- Our colleagues volunteered at the Humane Society of Charlotte, pitching in with cleaning, organizing, and, of course, spending quality time with the shelter dogs—blending teamwork with service to make a real community impact.
- The MVA Public Service Committee hosted a Lunch & Learn with Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, promoting access to justice and raising awareness of vital community resources. If you’d like to support this work, you can donate to the recent Access to Justice Campaign in honor of MVA by clicking here.
- The MVA Hispanic and Latino Lawyers Association (HALLA) hosted “Cafecito y Comunidad” (Coffee & Community), bringing folks together to connect over Colombian coffee and pastries from a local vendor, sharing stories and moments of empowerment.
