Overview
Barbara provides practical and collaborative legal advice to a range of globally systemic, regional, and community banks, as well as fintech, treasury management, payments, insurance and brokerage companies. She has expertise regarding Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), living will requirements, interest rate transition, Bank Secrecy Act, financial reporting, broker-dealer and insurance licensing matters. Barbara previously held numerous leadership positions at Wachovia Corporation and Wells Fargo & Company, where in her last position she led the Global Commercial Banking Section, providing regulatory and legal support to the company’s broad platform of banking, insurance and brokerage activities, both domestically and internationally.
While advising financial institutions on complex legal issues and crisis management, Barbara continues to serve the community, including as a trustee on the board for the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, serving as chair of the Development Committee and Blumenthal Business Leaders for the Arts. She previously served as a board member for the Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center.
Recognized as a leader in developing diverse talent, Barbara was President of the Wells Fargo Enterprise Women’s Team Member Network with over 35,000 members, providing professional, community, and business development opportunities for team members and customers.

- Represented a G-SIFI bank responding to regulatory matters (Consent Orders and Matters Requiring Attention) with the Federal Reserve, OCC and CFPB
- Analyzed AML/BSA and OFAC consent order and compliance matters for domestic and foreign financial institutions
- Evaluated UDAAP, Fair Lending, and compliance with other consumer laws in connection with an internal investigation
- Advised regarding commercial sales practices compliance issues
- Assessed securities and registration compliance for various investment banking companies
