Don Meyer is a seasoned transactional health law attorney, advising hospitals, healthcare systems, and physician groups throughout the United States. He regularly advises board members and management representatives on transactions and governance issues.

Member and head of Moore & Van Allen's Healthcare Team.  Member of the firm's Management Committee since 1997. 

 

Don's focus since the early 1990s has primarily involved serving as outside general counsel to numerous healthcare systems, hospitals, large physician group practices, nursing and assisted living facilities, and other healthcare organizations.  He represents several dozen hospitals, physician-hospital joint venture entities, healthcare organizations, outpatient and diagnostic facilities, and numerous physicians and large group practices throughout the United States. 

 

In 2010 Mr. Meyer served as outside lead counsel on numerous hospital joint ventures and acquisitions.  Several of these projects involved national healthcare systems, regional hospitals and rural hospitals.

 

Don was a participant in the first Masters Program of the American Health Lawyers Association in Washington, D.C., and has been a speaker at annual meetings of the American Healthcare Lawyers Association and other national healthcare organizations in such locations as San Francisco, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C.

 

In 2004, Don was recognized as the only lawyer in South Carolina, and one of approximately 100 in the United States, to be named an "ALL STAR" lawyer by BTI Consulting Group, Inc.  This award is given to lawyers who have been recognized by their clients (without the lawyer's knowledge) as providing superior client service and the ability to deliver "relevant, practical business advice" to clients.
