Spencer Mead is an associate on Moore & Van Allen's Intellectual Property team. Spencer has experience with a variety of IP matters across a broad range of industries. Spencer assists with trademark, patent, trade secret, and other complex IP disputes, including litigation matters in federal courts and administrative tribunals.

Spencer’s practice consists of all aspects of IP litigation, as well as patent prosecution including: counseling clients, capturing invention disclosures, drafting applications, drafting appeal briefs, and drafting responses to domestic and foreign prosecution. He has experience in a variety of technologies including: semiconductors, photonics, network technology, wireless communications, stream computing, consumer electronics, complex software, and wind turbine generators.

Spencer also donates his time to various pro bono activities including previously being an Advisory Board Member for Georgia PATENTS, a non-profit organization that provides assistance in patent matters to pro bono inventors. Additionally, Spencer spent a week in Folkston, Georgia assisting the Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative to provide legal counsel to detained immigrants. In recognition for his pro bono efforts, Spencer received the Alan J. Davis Pro Bono award from a previous employer.
