Immigration Update

06.09.2010

Moore & Van Allen's Global Immigration Team released an Immigration Update entitled "E-Verify Redesign Requires New Tutorial Completion to Continue Program Use."

On June 13th, 2010, E-Verify will launch a redesigned website, aimed at improving security and efficiency. For existing E-verify users, your current user ID and password will not change. For those who enroll in E-verify after June 13th, the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") and terms of use will be worded differently. The substantive requirements will not change but the MOU and terms of use has been rewritten with simplified terms to facilitate understanding by parties entering into E-Verify in the future.

Once the redesigned website has been launched on June 13th, existing users will need to complete a new tutorial before being allowed to verify new employees.  As such, registered users should be prepared to set aside time on June 14th to complete the tutorial and its test to avoid disruption to E-Verify account privileges. ICE has prepared new "how to" videos regarding the website redesign, as well as new user manuals to study for the new tutorial test. ICE is also holding a sneak peak webinar on June 10th at 2pm EDT.  We look forward to assisting your business with its immigration needs. Please do not hesitate to call or email your MVA Immigration Team contact with any questions you may have.
