McGinnis Discusses Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center

Charlotte Privacy & Data Security Member Karin McGinnis was quoted in Law360 on June 4, in the article “Retailers Face Pitfalls in Effort to Share Cyberthreat Info.”  The piece addresses the potential snags of the Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center, which was launched on May 14 by the Retailers Industry Leaders Association and dozens of U.S. retailers, such as Target Corp and J.C. Penney Co.

“’If a company has access to information about potential security threats but is not looking at it or keeping on top of it, and is a member in name only, that can be used against it,’” McGinnis stated.
