Moore & Van Allen (MVA) Financial Regulatory Advice & Response Senior Counsel John Stoker served as guest speaker for The University of North Carolina School of Law CLE titled “ABCs of Banking Law” on March 29. This CLE provided an introduction, or a primer, for attorneys seeking an understanding of the regulatory framework governing the banking industry. John covered the supervisory and examination process, discussing the supervisory approach of the federal banking regulators and how the regulators address compliance and risk management issues identified during the supervisory process, including the use of formal and informal enforcement actions.
