Gabe Mathless Rejoins MVA’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Team
Moore & Van Allen (MVA) is pleased to announce that Gabe Mathless has rejoined the firm as a Partner in the Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice, effective today, January 26.
Gabe previously spent more than a decade on MVA’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Team, where he built a strong reputation for his extensive expertise and skillful navigation of complex restructuring and insolvency matters and for his collaborative approach to client service. His return brings deep restructuring expertise and adds a valuable component to the Team’s existing deep bench during a time of increased activity in the restructuring sector and growth of MVA’s restructuring practice.
During his prior tenure with the firm, Gabe regularly represented financial institutions, direct lenders, funds, investors, and other stakeholders in a broad range of financial and corporate restructuring matters across industries including real estate, agriculture, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, technology, and transportation. His experience includes handling in‑ and out‑of‑court credit workouts; negotiating amendments, forbearances, debt‑for‑equity swaps, deeds‑in‑lieu, and DIP financing; and guiding clients through distressed M&A transactions such as Section 363 sales and Article 9 foreclosures. He also has significant experience with complex intercreditor arrangements, including resolution of intricate intercreditor disputes.
Gabe will advise clients across a full spectrum of restructuring and financial distress matters, further strengthening the firm’s ability to provide comprehensive and strategic counsel in a dynamic and evolving marketplace.
Gabe rejoins MVA from having served as in-house General Counsel at Voyager Global Mobility, a multinational mobility company serving the asset side of the ride-hailing industry, where Gabe oversaw myriad complex transactional matters and handled all aspects of a dynamic in-house counsel function.
