As credit unions have navigated heightened governance, regulatory, and legal risk, for years MVA has advised credit unions and other financial institutions on governance, regulatory compliance, investigations, consumer financial services, data privacy, cybersecurity, litigation, and related industry issues.

As part of those ongoing efforts, this summer Moore & Van Allen leaders in regulatory compliance and enforcement participated in the 2026 Credit Union Attorney Fly-In Conference in Portland, Oregon. The invitation-only program, hosted by OnPoint Community Credit Union, convened senior counsel from across the national credit union community. MVA Members Valecia McDowell and Neil Bloomfield presented on board governance, director responsibilities, governance structures, and legal risk considerations for credit unions in an evolving regulatory environment. The presentation reflects MVA’s continued commitment to helping credit unions anticipate risk, strengthen governance, and serve their members effectively.

Thank you to OnPoint Community Credit Union and the conference organizers for convening legal professionals from across the credit union community.
