Gilson and Vandiford Receive President's Volunteer Service Award

05.19.2010

Citizen School's Mock Trial teachers John Gilson and Stacey Vandiford will receive the President's Volunteer Service Award for their outstanding teaching commitment over the past 12 months with the Citizen Schools Mock Trial Apprenticeship at Eastway Middle School.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award program is a way to thank, recognize and honor volunteers for their service.  This program also encourages a sustained commitment to civic participation and to inspire others to make service a central part of their lives. The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals and groups that have achieved a certain standard – measured by the outcomes of their contributions and the number of hours of service over a 12-month period.

John and Stacey will both receive a personalized letter from president Obama, a certificate of recognition and a presidential pin either bronze, silver or gold base on the number of hours they have volunteered with Citizen Schools.  Congratulations to both John and Stacey for their commendable volunteer efforts with Citizen Schools.
