Hader Quoted in The Ledger

Charlotte Immigration Member Steve Hader was quoted in a July 22 article titled, “Business-owning foreigners in Polk seek option to stay for selves, children.” The article discusses the E-2 Visa, also known as a Treaty Investor Visa, which grants citizens of certain countries permission to stay in the U.S. if they pledge to operate a business in the United States that will make a “significant economic contribution.” Steve spoke on his experience with the visa and how most people who get them do not have intentions of becoming permanent residents.  Steve said it's wrong to say E-2 Visa holders have no chance of gaining permanent residency but agreed that the E-2 Visa program does not yield a direct course to a green card or citizenship.
