MVA Member Named a North Carolina Top 100

Charlotte Wealth Transfer Member Neill McBryde was named to the Top 100 list in the 2013 North Carolina Super Lawyers nomination, results of which were published in Super Lawyers Magazine in January. 

Super Lawyers is a rating service that showcases lawyers who “exemplify excellence in the practice of law.”  Their objective is to create a comprehensive listing of attorneys that can be used as a resource for those in need of legal counsel.  An attorney’s inclusion in the publication “is testament to professional achievements and demonstrates peer recognition,” according to Publisher Cindy Larson. 

Super Lawyers’ selection process involves three steps.  Lawyers are either formally nominated by a peer or identified as a candidate by the research department. Candidates are then evaluated based on 12 indicators of recognition and achievement.  Finally, in the “blue ribbon review” step, candidates are grouped and evaluated according to primary practice area.  Top 100 attorneys are those who received the highest point totals in state nomination, research and blue ribbon review process. 

McBryde, who has been consecutively selected for inclusion to the North Carolina Super Lawyers list since 2006, leads the Firm’s estate planning, wealth transfer planning, and trusts and estates groups.  He has lectured nationally and written extensively in areas relating to business and tax planning for closely held businesses and their owners, tax controversies, insurance planning, and estate planning and administration.
