Moore & Van Allen Announces Newly Elected Firm Members

Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that the following five attorneys have been elected as the Firm’s newest members:  Christopher T. Colwell, E. Brandon Gaskins, John E. Slaughter, Christopher D. Tomlinson and Kimberly Easter Zirkle.  Their new designation went into effect on January 1.

Christopher T. Colwell practices on Moore & Van Allen’s Charleston, South Carolina office Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities teams.  Colwell maintains a particular focus on corporate law, commercial and residential real estate transactions and business litigation. 

E. Brandon Gaskins practices on Moore & Van Allen’s Charleston, South Carolina office Employment & Labor team.  His employment law experience spans federal and state laws such as Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Gaskins also has experience in conducting internal investigations including harassment, employee misconduct, discrimination, ethical violations and retaliation. In addition to employment litigation, he practices commercial litigation for various industries such as construction, banking and maritime, general tort, personal injury and lease disputes.

John E. Slaughter practices on Moore & Van Allen’s Research Triangle, North Carolina office Intellectual Property team.  Slaughter maintains a particular focus on intellectual property due diligence, intellectual property licensing and transactional work, intellectual property litigation and domain name disputes, including adversarial administrative proceedings and commercial transactions. 

Christopher D. Tomlinson practices on Moore & Van Allen’s Charlotte, North Carolina office Litigation team.  Tomlinson represents a wide variety of clients in securities class actions, private equity disputes, lending disputes, construction disputes, shareholder disputes, contract disputes and other complex commercial litigation. Additionally, Tomlinson has experience assisting with internal investigations, regulatory investigations, and white collar criminal cases.

Kimberly Easter Zirkle practices on Moore & Van Allen’s Charlotte, North Carolina office Financial Services team.  Her primary areas of focus include mezzanine finance, private equity and venture capital.  She represents financial institutions, institutional investors, hedge funds, business development companies, private equity groups, venture capital funds and sponsors in buy-out, investment and finance transactions.
