Smith Joins ASC Fall Panel

10.2014

Charlotte Bankruptcy Member Zach Smith was invited to serve as one of the Arts & Science Council’s Cultural Project Grant Program panelists. Each year, the ASC requests assistance from members of the Board of Directors, Cultural Leadership Training class, Young Donor’s Society, and other community leaders and artists to serve as panelists for more than 125 funding requests from organizations throughout Mecklenburg County. Panelists are expected to attend an orientation meeting, review, score and provide comments on funding requests, and attend a panel deliberation meeting at which funds will be allocated. This year’s fall panel deliberation meeting will take place on November 11. Smith also served on the ASC’s Cultural Grant Program spring panel, which was held in April.

ASC developed the Cultural Project Grant Program to increase access to arts, science, and history/heritage offerings and strengthen the quality of cultural programming in neighborhoods and towns across Mecklenburg County. Any 501c(3) based in Mecklenburg County that does not currently receive unrestricted operating support from ASC, can apply for up to $5,000 to support programming that utilizes arts, science, history or heritage to engage the community.
