Overview
Mariah Burt is an associate in Moore and Van Allen’s Financial Regulatory Advice and Response group. Prior to attending law school and joining the firm, Mariah worked at Deloitte’s Government and Public Services consulting group in Washington, D.C., where she served clients at various federal agencies. Her work included authoring White House Reports on regulatory strategy and supporting corporate governance innovation. Her experiences working on Capitol Hill during undergrad also inform her work in legislative tracking and regulatory compliance.
In law school, Mariah served as Content Editor of the North Carolina Civil Rights Law Review, Pro Bono Chair for Law Students Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, and board member of UNC Women in Law. During her final year of law school, Mariah was a clinical student in UNC Law’s Criminalized Survivor, Detention, and Justice Clinic, where she was awarded a Certificate of High Merit for her work advocating for legislative change for survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
Mariah earned B.A.s in Public Policy and Political Science with Highest Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. with Honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
