Moore & Van Allen Represents Little Rock Community Development Corporation in Affordable Housing Project
Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that the firm represented the Little Rock Community Development Corporation (CDC) in the development of a new affordable housing project in Uptown Charlotte. The CDC is working in partnership with Laurel Street to develop the new apartment community - Varick on 7th.
MVA attorneys Tony Lathrop, Mary Katherine Stukes, and Michael Hebert worked pro bono on the project, representing the CDC in the transaction. Varick on 7th broke ground on April 28th and was named in honor of James Varick, a founder of the AME Zion Church.
The community is planned to be sustainable, inclusive, and bring together residents of all ages, income levels, and family sizes. The Little Rock Church and the city of Charlotte have contributed land to the project, allowing it to be in a centrally located area with access to Uptown restaurants, museums, shops, and other services. The 105-unit development is anticipated to be completed in fall of 2022.
