MVA Corporate Member Scott Syfert, as a May 20th Society Board member, is co-leading the efforts to create the Charlotte Liberty Walk, an interactive historical tour that will stop at some of the most prominent Revolutionary War sites throughout uptown Charlotte.

Central Piedmont Community College, historical artist Dan Nance, and the May 20th Society have collaborated to bring the Charlotte Liberty Walk to fruition.  Inspiration for the Walk, details of which can be found in the Liberty Walk Trail of History video, was derived from a visit to Boston’s Freedom Trail.

Proponents of the Liberty Walk hope it helps to educate the community on Charlotte’s rich Revolutionary War history.  Charlotte and the surrounding Carolina back country saw some of the most crucial action in the final chapters of the American Revolution – a fact that is largely unknown in today’s society.
