Beth Buckner Speaks on Financial Transparency and Infrastructure Planning at Area Development’s Workshop Forum
Moore & Van Allen Member and Head of Economic Development and Incentives Beth Buckner, along with Dianne Jones, Managing Director of Business Location and Economic Incentives at JLL, recently spoke at Area Development’s The Workshop Forum in Charlotte.
Together, Beth and Dianne presented “Project Excellence Through Financial Transparency and Infrastructure Foresight,” exploring how transparent fee structures and proactive infrastructure planning can significantly influence the success of economic development projects.
The discussion focused on strategies for honest financial communication with stakeholders and the importance of anticipating and preparing for infrastructure investments—such as utilities, roads, and permitting—that can ultimately make or break a project. Beth also shared insights from her experience advising complex projects on how early disclosure, thoughtful planning, and coordination across stakeholders can help manage risk, build trust, and support long‑term project success.
