Kat Sammis provides sophisticated and personalized estate planning services to help clients envision and implement their unique legacies.

Overview

Kat’s practice spans all aspects of estate and wealth planning, including trust formation, charitable giving, business succession, and tax planning, as well as trust and estate administration. She joins MVA from the regulatory and compliance department of an international law firm.

While in law school, Kat worked as a research assistant on tax, nonprofit, and private foundation matters, and as a teaching assistant for the first-year legal writing program. She also volunteered with Duke Law’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Health Care Planning pro bono projects.

Prior to law school, Kat taught English language arts at public middle and high schools. She brings her experience structuring complex curriculum, tailoring it to individual needs, and managing multiple perspectives to help clients achieve their personal estate, tax, charitable, and business planning goals.
