Overview

Our maritime and admiralty practice advises clients operating at the intersection of global shipping, government vessel programs, offshore energy, and integrated logistics networks. We represent vessel owners, operators, charterers, NVOCCs, insurers, and contractors in highstakes maritime litigation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, bringing a practical, operationsdriven approach shaped by experience inside the industry. We are particularly focused on complex, multiparty environments where contractual risk, insurance coverage, and realworld performance must align.

We routinely handle matters involving Jones Act personal injury and wrongful death claims, vessel collisions and allisions, cargo loss and supply chain disruption, marine casualties, and environmental incidents. Our experience includes disputes involving U.S.-flag and government vessels, where commercial operations intersect with federal contracting regimes and sovereign frameworks. We also advise on compliance and enforcement under key statutory and international regimes, including the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, the Oil Pollution Act, CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, MARPOL, and evolving international trade requirements, including sanctions and tariff controls.

In addition, we structure and negotiate maritime and logistics agreements—including charter parties, NVOCC service arrangements, and multimodal transportation contracts—with a focus on liability allocation, claims management, and operational execution. Our approach is grounded in resolving issues before they become disputes, while positioning clients to respond effectively when they do, including casualty response, claims strategy, and coordination with insurers and global service providers across the transportation chain. We advise on maritime risk not only in litigation, but in real time—when cargo is moving, vessels are operating, and decisions must be made.
