MVA Member Nader Raja Among Law360’s 2020 Rising Stars
Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Law360 has recognized Nader S. Raja, a member of the firm’s Litigation group, among its 2020 Rising Stars for Compliance.
Nader regularly works with clients facing complex and high-stakes government enforcement, regulatory compliance, and civil and criminal litigation. He focuses his practice on government investigations, corporate compliance, white collar defense, and complex commercial litigation. Nader has extensive experience representing clients in civil, criminal, and regulatory matters involving domestic and international authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the European Commission, and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Nader works closely with clients on the implementation of corporate compliance programs and the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, training programs, and other internal controls designed to strengthen regulatory compliance and to prevent, deter, and detect improper conduct. His clients frequently rely on him for practical compliance advice, assistance implementing and conducting risk assessments, and designing strategies that can minimize the risk of enforcement action.
In addition, Nader is actively involved in the community and maintains an active pro bono practice in which he strives to perform at least 50 hours of pro bono services annually. As chair of the firm’s Housing Rights Pro Bono Project and co-champion of a city-wide pro bono initiative known as the Charlotte Triage Eviction Project, Nader leads a team of volunteers focused on advocating for tenants living in substandard living conditions who are facing the threat of homelessness due to wrongful and retaliatory evictions.
