Friedrich, who most recently served as senior policy advisor and deputy general counsel to the North Carolina Speaker of the House, Tim Moore, will be based in the firm’s Raleigh Public Affairs office.

“Beth is highly regarded across the state for her accomplishments, knowledge, and experience in public policy and economic development initiatives and will be a tremendous asset,” said Managing Director & Head of Public Affairs Walter S. In her new role, Friedrich will join Towers Mingledorff, Bradford L. Sneeden, and Canaan Huie in government relations, lobbying, messaging, and other advocacy efforts on behalf of clients in Raleigh and around the state.

Most recently, her efforts have brought projects such as Apple’s Research Triangle headquarters, Wolfspeed’s Raleigh headquarters, and Toyota’s new $13.9 billion battery plant in Randolph County to fruition.

In addition to her three-year term at the Office of the Speaker, she also previously served in roles with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and as Senior Manager of Economic Development for the City of Raleigh. Friedrich was appointed in November of this year to the Board of NCInnovation, a public-private partnership that accelerates the commercialization of innovation from North Carolina universities.

“I am honored to take this next step in my professional journey with MVA,” Friedrich said. “It’s an exciting new endeavor and I look forward to leveraging my background, network, and experience to support our clients in achieving their goals and furthering the growth of the firm’s highly reputable, talented Public Affairs team.”

Friedrich earned her J.D. from North Carolina Central, her MA in international affairs from the Central European University in Budapest, and her bachelor’s degree in political science from The University of Georgia.
