Joseph "Joey" W. Norman

Joey has an extensive transportation and logistics commercial and regulatory law practice, employing a value-driven approach particularly focusing on appraising and addressing risk from an operational and commercial perspective.

Joey acts as primary outside transportation counsel to a diverse client set – including Fortune 200 multi-modal shippers, motor carriers in excess of 500 trucks and 1,000 drivers, small regional motor carriers, and transloaders.

He has broad experience in negotiating multi-modal contracts of carriage, including motor carrier and brokerage agreements for inbound, outbound, full truckload, less than truckload and final mile delivery; 3PL, 4PL, crossdock and warehousing agreements; transloading and intermodal agreements; ocean-going (VOCC and NVOCC) and inland waterway contracts of affreightment; barge fleeting, shifting and stevedoring agreements; air freight agreements; railroad interchange agreements; fleet leasing agreements; and various other transportation-related agreements. Joey oversees the transportation contract management processes and global insurance management programs for multiple Fortune 200 companies. His practice also includes advising clients on motor carrier and railroad regulatory compliance issues, including compliance implementation programs and compliance auditing. Joey also acts as special transportation counsel to the firm’s finance, litigation, and corporate practices.
