MVA Public Affairs is a practice group within Moore & Van Allen that provides clients comprehensive public affairs services. Our team consists of attorneys and lobbyists as well as communications, media relations and event management professionals.  With a complete range of capabilities and tools, we develop coordinated, customized approaches to deliver value and results for our clients. 


MVA Public Affairs government relations team brings a wealth of collective knowledge and decades of combined experience in relevant positions in corporations, trade associations, as well as local, state and federal government. We work with clients to understand their business, stakeholders, priorities and challenges, and we develop and implement government relations plans to advance their objectives.

Our team has longstanding relationships with policy makers in the Carolinas and Washington, D.C., and our registered lobbyists have the experience to help you effectively navigate and advocate before the state legislature and executive branch. In addition, our knowledge of the local government landscape and relationships with officials and staff allow us to help clients effectively manage local issues.

We assist clients in navigating federal, state and local rules regarding political activity to help clients ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Our team understands the importance of ethical compliance and is well prepared to counsel clients on a range of issues at federal, state and local levels. Our areas of focus include campaign finance rules, lobbying and ethics law, regulatory and legislative interpretation and guidance, and political action committee (PAC) consultation.

    December 13, 2018: The Gaston County Economic Development Commission is pleased to announce that Sonic Automotive, Inc. has cho¬sen to locate its newest office operations in Lowell. Located at 109 Kenworthy Avenue in Lowell, the facility will house marketing and ad¬vanced customer care operations for Sonic Automotive, Inc. Approximately 500 jobs will be created within a five-year period with an invest¬ment of $11.2 million. Sonic Automotive, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and member of the Russell 2000 Index, is among the largest automotive retailers in the Unit- ed States. Sonic Automotive's Lowell operation will provide support of sales operations of the Sonic Automotive family. Sonic’s dealerships provide comprehensive services, including sales of both new and used vehicles, vehicle service and the ability for customers to sell used vehicles to Sonic and EchoPark Automotive stores.
